50-Minute Romeo and Juliet

adapted by Barbara Zahora, Michelle Shupe and Peter Garino
directed by Barbara Zahora and Michelle Shupe

This 50-minute adaptation of Shakespeare's timeless love story focuses directly on the journey of the star-crossed lovers from their first encounter through their untimely end.  Two actors portray Romeo and Juliet; two supporting actors play multiple roles in the play.  A perfect accompaniment to classroom studies of Romeo and Juliet and an exciting theatrical experience that we can bring to your classroom.  "50-Minute Romeo and Juliet" premiered on September 14, 2011 at The Newberry Library, Chicago.

" I noticed during the performance was that there were many moments when you could hear a pin drop in the room.  We were all enspelled by the play and the players--which was was a great effect to experience as an audience member and to observe as a program manager!
Thanks again for your performance!
