The
Shakespeare Project of Chicago announces a special FREE performance of 50 Minute Hamlet presented as part
of the Artifacts of Childhood:700
Years of Children's Books exhibit at The Newberry Library. This original two-actor
adaptation of William
Shakespeare's preeminent masterpiece The
Tragedy of Hamlet,
Prince of Denmark maintains the passion and poetry of the
classic text, while condensing the story into
a 50-minute cohesive whole. 50
Minute Hamlet is an excellent introduction to Shakespeare for
students sixth grade and up –
and a wonderful theatrical experience for those already familiar with
The Bard’s genius. Adapted and
directed by Project Artistic Director Jeff Christian and featuring
David Skidmore and Gail Rastorfer,
50 Minute Hamlet is
the
cornerstone of the company's educational
arm 50 Minute Shakespeare: revealing
the passion and poetry of
Shakespeare to younger generations. |
